Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was born from a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation in 2001, breaking new ground as the first medical school in Qatar while spearheading coeducation in higher education. It is with a steadfast commitment to education, patient care and research that we have proudly become synonymous with excellence in medical schooling on a global scale.
An extension of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, our integrated program of pre-medical and medical studies prepares students to become leaders in healthcare under the tutelage of Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians with Weill Cornell appointments at Hamad Medical Corporation. Emboldened by the finest education possible, recipients of the Cornell University M.D. degree are well-prepared to face the medical challenges of tomorrow through the highest quality of care.
Hailing from more than 30 countries, our students already contribute to the wellbeing of Qatar through their hands-on practice with patients in clinical settings. Moreover, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar presents an abundance of fruitful learning opportunities to students who, during the course of their studies, participate in biomedical research projects in Qatar and internationally.
It is with great pride that we present the Class of 2022 with their hard-earned degrees on this special day. Graduation marks the end of a chapter as we redirect our gaze to a future that is filled with challenges, rewards and opportunities. It is also with great pleasure that we announce that the 2022 graduation will take place in person, after two years of virtual ceremonies. After graduating, we strongly encourage former students to remain in close contact with our Office of Alumni Affairs which provides excellent guidance on navigating the world of medicine and forging successful careers.
